My story is lengthy but I'll try to reduce it since it would not let me post entire story. But, long story short, I went into Ulta to buy a clarifying shampoo to lighten my hair to an icy white. When I asked the stylist what she recommended, she said that I should let her put a toner on my hair. I asked if that would dry out my hair in any way she said no it would actually condition it so I told her ok. She was leaving so she instructed the other stylist, Caitlyn, on how to mix it. Caitlyn mixed and put a toner on my hair which turned it dark gray (blackish). Immediately she blamed it on the other stylist who had left saying she gave her the wrong formula. She immediately said she would put a shampoo cap on my hair and then the right toner. The who process fried my hair. Other than not making me pay, the retail manager did nothing to resolve the issue, even after I explained I lived an hour and 20 minutes away. He said the only one who could resolve this was the Salon Manager, Babs, and he could not make her come in that night. I came in to town the next day early and was sitting in my car waiting for my apt. The Salon Manager called and wanted to know my story. I felt as if she was blaming the whole incident on the condition of my hair. When I left the store the prior night, my head burned all the way home. When I got home I immediately washed my hair because apparently she didn't get all of the product out. I also put a conditioner back on my hair so I could at least brush it. She said because my head burned she didn't want to put any more chemical in my hair and because I already put a conditioner in my hair and the stylist had also put a conditioning treatment on hair, she felt there was nothing else she could do. She said they already didn't make me pay for it plus they gave me a conditioning treatment that they didn't make me pay for. I said so what are you saying you don't want me to come in. She said no. I said you don't even want to look at my hair to see if there is anything you can do. She said no there is nothing further that she can do for me. I asked if she could at least give me a product so I can maintain my fired hair and she said she wasn't authorized to do that. I was upset so she got the General Manager, Chelsey on the line. Chelsey also told me they could do nothing. I asked for product to help maintain the fried hair she told me she was not authorized to give product out of the store. I asked if I could go to another salon to see if they would at least look to see if there was anything they could do, she said she was not authorized to refund money. I asked if she could refund gas money because I had to drive all the way back and her manager refused to see me wasting my time and gas, she again said she could not refund money. She said she could leave a message for District Manager, Missy, to call me back to see if they could do anything but Missy, the District Manager, as of this post, has not called me back and I waited 4 hours before leaving town.

Just visited this location for the first I just moved to the area, the manager followed me and watched me the whole time I was there. It felt very uncomfortable and I did not enjoy shopping like I usually do at Ulta. Limited selection as well, first location I've been too that didn't carry clinique makeup.
Horrible. My wishes to not use chemicals, heat, or shampoo were completely disregarded. My hair was washed, blown out and sprayed. If you have natural hair, don’t go here! They have no idea how to treat natural hair!!!
I can’t say enough about Ulta services. Just had my second brow appointment with Paige and had my color done by David. They are the BEST! I will definitely stick with Ulta when it comes to my beauty services!!!
Went to the salon today for a cut and color and got to work with David. He is absolutely excellent! He listened to what I wanted and delivered 100%. The store was neat, clean, and well stocked. I'll definitely be coming back.
It's my opinion this salon 1. both stylist and management refused to admit there was a mistake/error made. 2. the management, in my situation, and I went all the way to the District Manager, had no compassion for me and clearly, in my opinion, have no skills at resolving issues. Everything I suggested they were unwilling or unauthorized to do.
Just FYI, in case management tries to say that it couldn't be fixed. I did find a salon that night in Hickory. They repaired my hair and took some of the toner out. It will still be another month of using product to restore its health but my point is THERE WAS A SOLUTION. Ulta Management didn't even want to offer one because they refused to even look at my hair to find a solution. (2nd/4th picture BEFORE)
